At Griffin Pest Management, our goal is to keep your home or busines free from all pests including ants, bed bugs, cockroaches, termites, rodents, and more. These different types of pests are common in the Southern California region and require their own integrated pest management strategies. This is where Griffin’s years of experience in dealing with pests gives us an advantage over our competition.
We have a strong understanding of how these pests can enter your home, garden, or business so we can take preventative measures to stop the problem before it starts. Even if there is an existing pest infestation, Griffin has the tools and knowledge to ensure that we can eliminate any pest issue, guaranteed.
Ants enter homes in search of shelter from weather or to find new sources of food or water. It is important to stop ants before they establish themselves inside the home as they are much more difficult to control.
Bed bugs are nocturnal blood sucking parasites that feed on humans. Bed bugs are prolific breeders and travel easily between walls, often hitching a ride on people, pets, furniture and purchased goods.
Bees often infest buildings in southern California. If your bees have been present for longer than 48 hours, bee control is necessary. We offer humane hive removal and can even repair the damage from the hive.
Carpet beetles feed on carpets, woolen fabrics, dead insects, furs, hides, feathers, horns, hair, silk and bones. They can also damage upholstery and clothing.
Centipedes tend to hide in dark, damp places and occasionally become structural pests. Centipede bites could potentially cause problems for people who are allergic to bee stings.
Cockroaches are common pests in southern California. These filthy pests transmit diseases, can contribute to allergies and will breed prolifically if not dealt with immediately.
Crickets find their way inside homes, damaging clothing, carpeting and other fabrics. They can eat through large areas of fabric, and are especially attracted to clothes soiled with perspiration.
Earwigs feeds on leaves, flowers, fruits, mold and insects at night. These insects live together outdoors in large numbers. Earwigs sometime infest homes in southern California via exterior cracks.
A typical flea infestation is about 50% eggs, 35% larvae, 10% pupae (cocoons) and only 5% adults. Fleas are very difficult to control once they have established themselves.
House and Fruit flies are found in unsanitary conditions, so they are a potential health concern, especially when present in food and health facilities.
Indian Meal moths are common in southern California's pantries, often feeding on dried fruits, grains, seeds, nuts, chocolate, candies, bird seed, dog food, powdered milk, dried red peppers and candy.
Mosquitos have four life stages consisting of egg, larva, pupa and adult. Adult female mosquitos have tube like mouthparts that can be used to penetrate the skin and feed on blood.
Powderpost beetles lay their eggs in wood. Powderpost beetles often attack hardwoods, and can be found in hardwood floors, timbers and crates, and other objects made of hardwood materials.
Scorpions are commonly found in the deserts or arid regions of southern California. These pests can nest in high numbers, making them a safety concern.
Silverfish feed on foods containing starches and carbohydrates such as rolled oats, dried beef, flour, starch, paper, cotton, some synthetic fibers, sugar, beef extract, dead insects, glue, paste and linen.
Spiders are a common household pest. Most spiders are not poisonous, however, black and brown widow spiders can be harmful to small children and pets if they disturb a web.
Homes often become infested if the family pet picks up ticks from an infested residence, boarding kennel, open field, or similar place where other infested animals have been present.
Wasps nest around the home and attack when the nest is disturbed. Wasps are different than bees and each can sting repeatedly. Sensitive individuals can have allergic reactions that may result in death.
Step 1: Inspection – A trained and licensed pest exterminator will conduct a top down inspection of the interior and exterior of your home or business and look for any signs of pest activity.
Step 2: Estimate – Pending the discovery of a pest problem, the pest exterminator will develop a free estimate for the best integrated pest management plan needed to remove all pest types.
Step 3: Custom Plan – Once the estimate is accepted, the technician will implement a custom pest management strategy to ensure that the pest problem is eliminated.
Step 4: Monitor – Once the initial service is complete, on-going monitoring of pest activity in follow up visits will help guide future integrated pest management practices.
Step 5: Recurring Service – To ensure that pests are no longer an issue, on-going services will continue to prevent bugs from returning
Pest control services usually fall within a range between $100 - $270. That said, there are several variables that could impact that price and cause it to come in higher than what normal services might cost. That includes size of treatment area, severity of infestation, how regular visits are scheduled, etc.
Specialized pest control services are valuable when you notice signs of higher that average pest activity. This is even more true when those pests can cause damage / harm to families, pets, and homes. If there are increasing signs of pests like bed bugs or termites, the expertise of a licensed pest control technician will be worth every dollar. For other pests, infrequent signs of pests may not present an immediate need but its important to understand that a small pest problem can grow into a full-blown infestation very quickly if not attended to.
There are generally 6 types of pest control: hygienic, biological, chemical, physical, fumigation, and heat treatment. Griffin uses an integrated pest management approach that focuses on chemical and physical treatment unless more drastic measure like fumigation is necessary.
General pest control treatment lasts a few months, so quarterly treatments are normally recommended. That said, instances of infestations may need more frequent visits to ensure that problem areas are thoroughly addressed.
This is dependent on the severity of the pest problem and the nature of the pests. There are some pest issues that may require only quarterly services but other pests may require more frequent visits.
We have a service for all of your pest control situations.
