Ants enter homes in search of shelter from weather or to find new sources of food or water. It is important to stop ants before they establish themselves inside the home as they are much more difficult to control.

Bed bugs are nocturnal blood sucking parasites that feed on humans. Bed bugs are prolific breeders and travel easily between walls, often hitching a ride on people, pets, furniture and purchased goods.

A typical flea infestation is about 50% eggs, 35% larvae, 10% pupae (cocoons) and only 5% adults. Fleas are very difficult to control once they have established themselves.

House and Fruit flies are found in unsanitary conditions, so they are a potential health concern, especially when present in food and health facilities.

Indian Meal moths are common in southern California's pantries, often feeding on dried fruits, grains, seeds, nuts, chocolate, candies, bird seed, dog food, powdered milk, dried red peppers and candy.

Mosquitos have four life stages consisting of egg, larva, pupa and adult.  Adult female mosquitos have tube like mouthparts that can be used to penetrate the skin and feed on blood. 

Powderpost beetles lay their eggs in wood. Powderpost beetles often attack hardwoods, and can be found in hardwood floors, timbers and crates, and other objects made of hardwood materials.

Scorpions are commonly found in the deserts or arid regions of southern California. These pests can nest in high numbers, making them a safety concern.

Silverfish feed on foods containing starches and carbohydrates such as rolled oats, dried beef, flour, starch, paper, cotton, some synthetic fibers, sugar, beef extract, dead insects, glue, paste and linen.

Spiders are a common household pest. Most spiders are not poisonous, however, black and brown widow spiders can be harmful to small children and pets if they disturb a web.

Homes often become infested if the family pet picks up ticks from an infested residence, boarding kennel, open field, or similar place where other infested animals have been present.

Wasps nest around the home and attack when the nest is disturbed. Wasps are different than bees and each can sting repeatedly. Sensitive individuals can have allergic reactions that may result in death.
